GLOBERIDE Group Human Rights Policy
At the GLOBERIDE Group, we express our corporate philosophy through our corporate slogan "Feel the earth." and have been engaged in an ongoing dialogue with society since 2009.
All officers and employees working in the GLOBERIDE Group have established five key promises "5 Key Promises" that embody the standards of behavior necessary to realize this corporate slogan, and have started to implement these through action (activities).
One of these five promises is "Play Fair - always be fair and contribute to people and society beyond," and we are always striving to realize a fair, equitable, and sustainable human society and global environment.
We respect the human rights of people around the world who may be affected by our business activities, and we aim to improve our company’s worth by understanding the accompanying responsibilities and significance, and by contributing to the development of a sustainable global environment and international community.
The Human Rights Policy of our GLOBERIDE Group
(Prioritization of and Respect for Human Rights)
We respect and support international norms related to human rights, such as the United Nations’ “International Bill of Human Rights”, which stipulates the fundamental human rights of all people, and the International Labour Organization's (ILO) “Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work”, which stipulates fundamental rights at work, and we promote business activities that prioritize and respect human rights based on the “Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights”.
(Scope of Application)
This policy applies to all officers and employees of the GLOBERIDE Group. We will also require all business partners related to our business, products, and services, regardless of whether they are organizations, groups or individuals, to understand our human rights policy, to comply with it, and to strive to respect human rights.
(Compliance with Laws and Regulations)
In conducting the business activities of the GLOBERIDE Group, we will comply with all laws and regulations established by relevant countries and regions. In some cases, when it is recognized or confirmed that the laws and regulations of the relevant countries or regions do not meet the human rights standards which are prioritized and recognized at an international level, or that there are conflicts between them, then we will seek ways to prioritize and respect internationally recognized human rights principles and to strive to respect human rights.
(Supporting a System for Respecting Human Rights)
We will always seek to improve our systems for respecting and supporting human rights, and strive to operate a highly effective business environment in which human rights are respected through ad-hoc and periodic reviews. In particular, with regard to concerns about human rights violations and other such negative impacts, we will strive to identify and assess the potential impact of our business activities, and to implement the preventive and protective measures available to us. Further, the GLOBERIDE Group will take appropriate actions such as providing opportunities for the education and training necessary for ensuring that this policy is understood and embraced by all officers and employees together with an enhanced awareness of human rights. We will also seek the understanding and cooperation of our business partners regarding this policy, regardless of whether they are organizations, groups, or individuals.
(Response to Concerns and Remedial Measures for Human Rights Violations)
Whenever a human rights related incident has occurred, or is reasonably expected to occur, as a result of our business activities then we will take appropriate steps to ascertain the facts and to implement corrective and remedial measures. This may include where there are suspicions of our involvement, concerns that our activities may have had, or have triggered, some form of negative impact on human rights either through our direct involvement or where our indirect involvement has facilitated such impact. In addition, the information received by the GLOBERIDE Group's whistleblowing hotline, the privacy of whistleblowers, and the content of reports will be kept strictly confidential. We will endeavor to implement appropriate protective measures through a third party to ensure that whistleblowers and other related parties will not be treated unfavorably by us as a result of such whistleblowing.
